Cybraid v1.01b Steve Pretty 26th June 2006 The Cybraid v1.01b executable is provided free of change, and may be freely distributed, provided it is accompanied by this read me file. The source code will not be made available. 1. Disclaimer Stephen Pretty maintains that all reasonable care and skill has been used in the creation of this software. Installation No installation facility is provided - just run the EXE file. 3. Using the software A. Select the braid type using the braid type selection box. This software supports plain weave braids with odd bobbin counts, plain weave with even bobbin count (left, right or centre irregularity), 2-2 twill, 3-3 twill and 4-4 twill braid types. B. Set Up the koma Click a colour on the palette to select it (the selected colour is marked with an X). Click on the required positions on the koma. This is effectively adding a tama to that koma position, loaded with the required colour thread. C. See the result When an appropriate number of tama are present on each rail, the braid will be drawn. D. Make changes You can add tama as required - the braid will disappear and only reappear when an appropraite number of tama have been added. You can change the braid type - e.g. set up a 25 tama braid in plain weave and then select to view it as 2-2 twill, 3-3 twill, 4-4 twill. To change the colour of threads on tama, select the new colour on the palette, and click the koma positions to be changed. To clear a koma position, select "Clear" from the palette, and click the koma positions you want to clear. To change a colour on the palette, select the colour and then click change. Note - tama are effectively linked to the pallette position used to colour them - so when you change the colour of a palette position, all tama previously coloured with it will be changed. E. Document your design The Title, By, On and Notes fields are text fields that have been provided to allow you to document your design. Use the Title box to give the braid a name, the By box to enter your name, the On box for the date and the notes field for anything you want - e.g. proposed yarn types, number of ends per bobbin, length, bobbin weights, finishing details etc. F. Save your design Use the Save design to store your design for future use. Any design saved will be stored with a .CYB file extension. Use the Load design button at any stage to reload a previously stored design. G. Get hardcopy of your design You may save your design as a bit map file using the Save button. This bit map file can then me inserted into your write up of the braid. Alternatively, you could use Control PrintScreen to save a screen shot of the braid and its associated koma set up. 5. Futures I hope to improve the ability to get hardcopy of designs. 6. Contacts If you have any comments about this program, feel free to contact me at steve.pretty@dial.pipex.com 7.
