Welcome to my Web site! I became interested in braid making in 2004, and am now an active member of the Braid Society. My main interests are in Kumihimo (Japanese braiding), and also ply-split braiding. As a recently retired engineer, I enjoy the challenge of making the hardware required for braiding. This has now become a small scale business for me - I make and sell a range of equipment including Karakumidai and Takadai. I also sell plans for the Karakumidai. Follow the Equipment link for more detail. I am, by training, an IT professional, so am interested in how software can be used to help design braids. I have designed some simple software to help with the design of simple Takadai braids. Follow the Software link for more details.
